Tara Hanlon, MSc Cand

Tara completed her engineering diploma here at St. FX and then transferred to Dalhousie to complete a mechanical engineering degree. After completing her B.Eng, she worked professionally for several years before she was drawn back to school for an MSc in the Fluxlab. Tara works on the mobile sensors and wind measurements.  She is our resident expert in Computational Fluid Dynamics software and modelling, but has also carried out a set of fantastic field-based experiments that allow her to match real-world, and simulation.  Her innovative work is leading to improved anemometer placement on our trucks, and offset calibrations for speed and yaw.  These can be applied not only for emissions studies, but more generally for accurate wind mapping.
