Sam Poirier, BASc Candidate
Sam joined the lab after his third year in St. FX’s Climate and Environment program to begin working on his honour’s thesis. Sam enjoys a challenge, solving problems, and getting out of his comfort zone. Some of his previous research looked at the economic impact of carbon taxes and renewable subsidies in Nova Scotia. He is currently focusing on developing new methods of monitoring, measuring, and verifying for carbon capture and storage facilities in Canada. Through classes and research experience, Sam has a strong background in field work and has been called to assist other labs in their field campaigns. Originally from St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Sam enjoys being surrounded by nature. Generally, you’ll find him biking, sailing, or trying to (sometimes successfully) get lost in the backwoods of Nova Scotia.
