Robyn Latimer, PhD Candidate
Robyn is in the second year of her PhD in Engineering (Oil and Gas) at Memorial University. After completing her undergraduate thesis with the FluxLab and earning an Honours degree in Physics, she went on to complete a Master’s in Physics and Atmospheric Science at Dalhousie. Her Master’s research focused on evaluating and improving the representation of aerosol optical properties in the chemical transport model, GEOS-Chem. After working for several years in the private sector in air quality consulting and data science roles, she is excited to have returned to the lab as a PhD student.
In summer 2022, she embarked on her first Oil and Gas field campaign and is currently planning another field campaign in Bonnyville, Medicine Hat and Grande Prairie. This field season she will be deploying two stationary methane monitoring towers that will be used to estimate “top down” regional methane emissions. She is also developing a script for processing mobile survey data.
